Regional Vice President – Europe, Jumeirah Hotels
General Manager of the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, London Derek Picot is Regional Vice President – Europe for Jumeirah Hotels and the General Manager of the Jumeirah Carlton Tower. He joined the Jumeirah Carlton Tower as Regional General Manager in March 2003 from Meridien where he held regional positions in London, Australia and Canada operating properties in London, Sydney, Melbourne and Toronto.
With over 30 years of experience gained in the hospitality industry, he has held a variety of senior management positions in some of the finest hotels across four continents – the Americas, Australia, Europe and Asia. In 1985 he was resident manager of the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong, and prior to that he held several similar positions with Hilton in the Middle East and Europe.
Derek is also the Chairman of the Knightsbridge Business Group - a collection of the most important businesses in the area promoting Knightsbridge as a destination. He is also a Master Innholder and author of the book 'Hotel Reservations'. |
